The Yeast Culture Club is a group of people who like brewing beer, cooking, crafting, and talking about science and food. Most of us are current or former graduate students from the Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture at University of Maryland-College Park.
YCC meets weekly and, since it’s founding in January 2014, has brewed 30+ batches of beer (mostly extract these days, but we have gone all-grain at times). We’ve also made Korean rice wine, bar soap, laundry detergent, arm-knitted scarves, and several varieties of sauerkraut. We are proud members of the Free State Homebrew Guild.
